It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cathy J. Rydberg of Oxnard, California, who passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Harlow Ackerman and Freida Ackerman; her husband Pete Rydberg; her children, Andrea, Rachel, Greg, Mary, Andy, Dan, Tim and Jill; her grandchildren, Etta, Audrey, Jack, Lily, Emma, Macy, William, Mia, Kingston, Dominic, Hailey, Bella and Mason; her siblings, Janet, Roger, Mary and Jodi; and her nephews, Raymond and Luke. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

“Cathy and i met 56 years ago. She was 16 and I, 15. In the lunch room the first day back to high school from summer vacation was , Cathy was sitting by herself by the windows, eating a half a sandwich very slowly and staring straight ahead. I had never seen her before. The next day, she was at the same seat, slowly eating a half sandwich, and staring. I put my food down with my friends and went over to her and introduced myself, inviting her to join our table. she did and we were inseparable”
