She is survived by: her husband Jose Luis Valdez Sr.; and her children, Evelyn Godinez (Richard), Kenneth Valdez (Steve Mack), Dr. Jose Valdez (Cyndi) and Rev. Yancey Valdez (Jill). She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters and two brothers.
