“We knew doug very well. He worked at western electric in lax and guilford center in greensboro for several years. He also worked for the us army missile command in huntsville, al. Some years ago. Doug always tells the story of while he was in the navy in wwii and stationed in hawaii, he wanted to get to the war so he booked passage on the uss north carolina out of hawaii to the philippines. He loved his wife margrett and they were great friends with lots of folks at kernersville moravian..”
