It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pilar Alonso Benito of Ojai, California, born in Rome, New York, who passed away on September 13, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Alonso and Germana Perfueta Alonso; her husband Santiago Benito; her sister Nieves Alonso D'Amore; her brother-in-law Stephen D'Amore; her nephew Stephen D'Amore, Jr.; her sisters, Clementina and Louisa; and her aunt Soledad Perfueta Godes.
She is survived by: her former husband Ernest Garafalo; her niece Pamela D'Amore Landau (Michael Landau); and her goddaughter Sharyn Bouton (Ray "Socks").
