She was predeceased by: her husband Paul G. Eliopoulos; and her sister Irene Margelos. She is survived by: her daughter Mary Kay Stratigos (Spiro); her grandchildren, Niko and Sophia; her daughter Irene Starling (Eric); her grandchildren, Alex, James and Alena; her brother Tom Kapellas (Sandy); and also Garifalia Zeissig (Eliopoulos). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Nativity of Christ Church in memory of Sophia.
