He was predeceased by: his wife Valencia; and his uncle Ernie. He is survived by: his children, Mark, Jr. and Jennifer; his parents, Gaines, Jr. and Marcy; his brothers, Gaines III and Shawn; his sister-in-law Clarissa; and his friend Hector. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
His kitchen skills were transferable as he learned how to contribute to the betterment of the environment.
