He was predeceased by: his sister Estella Saipen. He is survived by: his wife Ida Contreras; his siblings, Henry Sapien (Carmen), Elvira Aguilar, Eva Adame (Henry), Enedina Castillo (Henry) and Elisa Sapien; his children, Elizabeth Sapien, Edward Sapein, Jr. (Eddie) and Eileen Sapien; and his grandchildren, Nicole Pena, Brianna Steinbach-Eskelson (Mike) and Roy (Ava Shurtzand). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
Due to the pandemic there will not be a Celebration of Life.
On November 25, 2020, Edward Michael Sapien, 81, passed peacefully at the Santa Maria Care Center after a tough battle with Alzheimer's disease.
