Linda Halesworth Griffith Obituary
Linda Halesworth Griffith, age 73, of Newport Beach, California passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Linda was born in Flushing, Queens, New York on July 11th, 1951, to Edward Halesworth and Jeanne Daumery.
Linda Jeanne Halesworth was baptized on June 14th, 1953 at the Presbyterian Community Church of Massapequa; and grew up on Long Island in the family home on Nassau Road with her loving parents, brother Kevin and sister Claire.
A child of the sixties, Linda loved music - especially Doo Wop - and took great joy in loudly singing along with her favorite performers whenever their songs came on the radio and television. But her artistic talents weren't limited to simply being a vocalist: for four years in elementary school, Linda took piano lessons from Mrs. Martinez with her brother Kevin; and up until the 8th grade, she nurtured a strong passion for playing the flute.
Linda's parents moved the family to California in 1974 and she quickly became an ardent devotee to the beaches of South Orange County for the rest of her life.
Linda was a lifelong animal lover and devoted pet parent. She became a skilled equestrian in her teens; was a master cook that enjoyed creating delicious meals for her family and friends; became a self-taught horticulturist that loved cultivating everything from flowers and vegetables to trees and shrubs; and enjoyed a variety of interests and passions that ranged from participating in athletics to travel.
Professionally, Linda spent a number of years in the medical field, on the administrative side, before becoming a highly accomplished Interior Designer. Some of her fondest recollections were of the great successes she had with her business, Decorating Den.
Linda met Phil, the love of her life and husband of 30 years, while working out; it was love at first sight.
Linda was a true force of nature with a beautiful, vibrant spirit. She was an anchor; an Angel that encouraged, supported and gave emotional security to everyone she met. She found beauty in the darkest of places, and lived life as her truest self with honesty and pride. And she unselfishly bettered everything and everyone that she ever touched.
Linda is survived by her husband, Phil, her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Alex, her three grandchildren, Andrew, Alexis and Adian, her brother, Kevin, her sister, Claire, her niece, Jaime, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Pat McCormick.
