Though Marilyn Lavonne may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She is survived by: her friends, Johnny Bond, Tex Ritter, Joe, Merle Travis, Lou Dinning and Rose Lee Maphis; and her sons, Wesley, Jr. and Matthew. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great great grand children. and leaves behind a loving extended family and many, many loving friends.
In 2007, the Association awarded Marilyn the prestigious Pioneer Trails Award for her major contributions to the Western music genre and to the Association.
