He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Schafer and Dorothy Schafer; his brother Wayne Schafer; his nephew Jason Dunn; and his close friend Dave Hulbert.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Murdock, Nichole Murdock, Brandyn Duncan, Justin Duncan and Desirae Luna; his nephews, Donny Schafer, Jared Dunn, Kenny Schafer and Joel Dunn; and his grandchildren, Keira, Kennedy, Maverick Neil Murdock, Olivia Miller, Sophia, Kadence and Olivia Duncan.
