He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Duser and Alma Duser (Mangels); and his sister Hanna. He is survived by: his uncle Henry Duser; his fiancée Hannelore Vahlenkamp; his daughter Linda (Ingrid); his wife Lore; his daughter Ingrid (Scot Strotman); his grandchildren, Ashley Harrell, Travis Harrell (JD Bergeron), Kyle Harrell (Amy), Hannah Strotman and Drew Strotman; his great grandchild Harper Harrell; and his sister Helga Bartsch (Reinhard) of Wahnbek, Germany..

In lieu of flowers, John would be honored by donations to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or to the Hospice Department of Kaiser Foundation Hospital.
