“Only by chance was I able to meet & become a friend of the lovely Miss Dorothy. A few years ago while visiting Napa a friend of mine found her wallet in the middle of the road. After some investigating we were able to make contact & return it to her. Miss Dorothy was so kind & sweet. She invited us in, served us wine, told us many stories of her life, family, & the vineyard. We learned all about the “black chicken” We loved her dearly & will miss visiting with her.
