“I was very saddened to learn that your beloved Da Chen has passed away. I met him at the Miami International Book Fair in 2011. He had just published My Last Empress, and I had just published a book as well. He enchanted everyone with his stories and his flute music! I cherish my copy of his book, which he masterfully signed in Chinese characters. I had hoped very much to see him again. I am so sad that he has left you. Please accept my sincere condolences for this terrible loss. -Scott Wallace”
