He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Nelson and Dorothy Nelson; his son Joel; and his sister Muriel Sue Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his daughter Kristina Hernandez (Hector); his grandchildren, Aidan and Leilani Hernandez; and his siblings, Connie Thomas, LaRita Saso (Vince), Craig Nelson (Rosemarie), Richard Nelson (Odilia) and Randy Nelson (Antoinette). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
