He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Shirley A. Smith (Lawson), Marie E. Ynostrosa and Glenn T. Schaefer (Marianne). He is survived by: his mother Tina L. Smith-Gurley; his stepfather Christopher R. Gurley; his father Matthew A. Schaefer; his sisters, Colleen D. Schaefer (Michael) and Mikaila M. Schaefer; his niece Auroara Schaefer; and his grandfather Everett C. Smith (Mariyah Serratos). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me will be created in his name to donate to causes that he was passionate about: Humanitarian care for the people of occupied Palestine, Democracy Now, and any food banks, or more specifically, Lighthouse Food Rescue and Distribution.
