It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joanne Onaga of Monterey Park, California, who passed away on July 23, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joanne Onaga to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Yukio Onaga; and her parents, Yoshinori Hirata and Nuiko Hirata. She is survived by: her siblings, Toshiko Abbott (Edward), Marie Gruber, Nancy Rumiko Hirata and Ray Hirata. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, friends, and relatives.

“Danny & I took ceramics classes from Yukio Onaga in the early 1980’s, and the class quickly became like a little family. Yukio and Joanne became friends and were just the sweetest people ever. We are very sorry to have lost touch with Joanne after Yukio passed away. It enriches our lives to have known them. We are very sad to hear that Joanne has passed away.
