She is survived by: her husband John H. Burgee; her son John G.; and her grandchildren, Laura Burgee Soran (Cameron), Kevin and Brendan. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Coming to Santa Barbara in 1999 Gwen became a board member of the Architectural Foundation and led their architectural walking tours for several years.
