He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johnny Jackson, Sr. and Ruby Jackson; his grandmother Louise Pigford Alexander; his sons, Wilfred, Leonard and Harold Douglas Jackson; his wife Leota; and his brothers, Luther and Lamar. He was also cherished by five grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Even through his illness, Johnny continued to attend worship in Pasadena and also in family in-home services during the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020.
