He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Chaffin and Anna Chaffin (Bergner); and his brothers, Charles, Clyde, Carl Leonard and Harry.
He is survived by: his wife Lola Coulter; his children, James [Diana] Chaffin and Janice [Alan] Ketchell; his granddaughters, Rachel [Gary] Nichols, Amanda [Davy] Johnson, Sarah [Duane] Achziger and Pamela [Matthew] Gentilcore; and his siblings, Mary Shankle, Geraldine [Paul] Yochum, Dorothy [Gary] Gilliam, Lynda Cook and Louis [Cindy] Chaffin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great grand nieces and nephews.
