It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Sue Brown in Modesto, California, born in Poteau, Oklahoma, who passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Mathies and Audie Mathies (Calton); her husband Mathew Brown; her son Randy Brown; and her siblings, Doris Jenkins and Ed Mathies.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Pribyl (Scott) and Lisa Hampton (Rick); her daughter-in-law Mary Brown; and her siblings, Bill Mathies, Glenda Gentry, Peggy Geren and Kay Akers.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home (201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel (201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901). A burial was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery (522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901).
