Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gitta Roslyn Chernin of Mission Viejo, California, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 93, on March 26, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Warren and Molly Warren. She is survived by: her husband Homer; her children, Mark Chernin (Naomi), Jeff Chernin (Caryn) and Lisa Newman (Martin); her grandchildren, Ophir (Tami), Eli (Jenn), Rebecca (Jon), Brad (Tami) and Wes (Eliza); and her brother-in-law Hughie Chernin. She is also survived by her 12 great grandchildren.
Even after the loss of her husband in 2018 and the disruptions caused by the Covid pandemic, Gitta continued to play an active role in the HP community.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heritage Pointe Synagogue Fund in memory of Gitta Chernin.
