He is survived by: his wife Maria Lorena Gurrola of Ruiz; his children, Angela Ruiz, Daniel Ruiz, Lorena Ruiz and John Ruiz; his brothers, Vidal Ruiz, Juan Ruiz and Salvador Ruiz; and his grandchildren, Sophia Ruiz, Laura Ruiz, Andraya Ruiz, Kiarah Vallejo Ruiz and Avery Vallejo Ruiz.
