He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas James Barry of Whales and England (Charllotte May Barry). He is survived by: his wife Jean Barry; his children, Teesha Barry and Casandra Barry-Laumann; his son-in-law Benjamin Laumann; and his grandsons, Christopher Denney, Lucas Laumann and Ronan Laumann.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Merced College Foundation on behalf of The Gerald Barry Scholarship.
