He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Estle Spurlock and Doris Jane Spurlock; his brother Charles Douglas Spurlock; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Drum and Floyd "Bud" Neely.

He is survived by: his wife Brooke Spurlock; his sons, Dennis Spurlock (Tina) and Mark Spurlock (Tina); his stepsons, Stephen Sherman (Andreana) and Justin Sherman (Erin); his grandchildren, Connor, Donavan and Valerie; his stepgrandchildren, Nicholas, Brienne and Emily; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Luca and Gio; and his sisters, Janie Drum and Barbara Dysart. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
