He was predeceased by: his parents, Eulalia Gutierrez and Luis Herrera; and his sister Rosa. He is survived by: his wife Mercedes Herrera of Mecca; and his children, Richard Herrera of Mecca, Adelaida, Fatima Valdez of Indian Wells, Belinda Linares of Mecca and Elia. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
