Yvonne Annette (Alemán) Ford Obituary

Yvonne Annette Ford, 56, of McKinleyville, CA beloved wife, mother, aunt and sister, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Yvonne chose cremation and wanted her ashes given back to one of her favorite beach locations. She was preceeded in death by her mother, Yolanda G Mendoza (Narro) and father, Juan Jose Alemán Sr.

She is survived by, husband, Michael Ford and, daughter, Gabby Reyes. She also is survived by sisters: Yvette Alemán and Miriam Alemán and brothers: Juan Alemán II and Miguel Alemán. Amongst a number of nieces and nephews and step-father, Damian Mendoza and step-mother, Maria Alemán.

Yvonne grew up in San Augustine, TX, graduating from San Augustine High School in 1985. Yvonne worked for many years at the San Augustine Sheriff's office. After leaving Texas and relocating to California, Yvonne worked at Morris Middle School for a few years as a para-educator.

Yvonne loved her friends (who she said treated her like family) and her students. Another part of her heart went out to any animal that crossed her path. She loved her dogs and her stray cat that visited her everyday on her back porch.

Yvonne also found the place where she was meant to be: the beach! Besides spending time with her family, she loved combing the beach for sea glass. And would often post pictures of the nicer pieces that she would find.

Yvonne was a beautiful, intelligent and kind-hearted person; she gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. She was gifted with an artistic hand, she often painted and crafted things that made her happy. Rest easy and enjoy the waves and warm water.
