He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Grooms and Annie Belle Grooms; his siblings, Waldo Grooms and Mattie "Mickie" Grooms Masopust; and his son Roger Herman Grooms.
He is survived by: his wife Verna Byers Grooms; and his children, Jack Grooms (Cheryl), Paul Grooms (Debbie) and Carol Grooms Eastman (Mike). He is also survived by Fourteen grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
