David Edwin Manner Obituary
David Edwin Manner, 67, resident of Martinez, CA, unexpectedly passed away at his home on August 10, 2017. David was born to Edwin and Rose-Ann Manner on August 25, 1949. He was a compassionate, humble, thoughtful person, who always put others above himself. He loved his family and friends dearly. David was a man of faith who loved the bible and the Lord Jesus. His passion and main joy was to bring God to people. He could be found singing and having bible studies at home.
David also enjoyed reading, fishing, nature walks, puzzles, bowling, bocce ball, and being with loved ones. He coached his children's soccer teams and managed a men's high school basket team. He treasured annual family vacations to Lake Tahoe, Pine Mountain lake, and San Diego. He looked forward to vacations to Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania to spend time with his relatives and friends.
David was raised in Sandusky Ohio and moved to California in 1989. David graduated from Saint Mary's High School, obtained his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Detroit and a Masters of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. He worked as a Director of Marketing at Adaptec and Alps Electric. For the last 15 years he developed and managed his own sign company, California Signs and Graphics.
David is survived by his loving wife of 34 years; Denise Manner of Martinez and three children; David Michael Manner of Walnut Creek; Sarah Elizabeth Christensen of Concord and Jessica Michelle Manner of Martinez; his two grandchildren, Karis Jubilee Christensen, Lucas Loren Christensen and his siblings, Mary Jo Deming, Debbie Swank, Thomas Manner and Kevin Manner.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of David’s life from 2-5pm, on Saturday September 30th, 2017 at The Church in Berkeley located at 2430 Dana St Berkeley, CA 94706. Burial will be at Oakmont Memorial Park at 2099 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette, CA 94549 at a later date.
