He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Brown Shadle and Phyllis May Burton; his wife Marie Zoria Shadle (Marlene); his son Theodore Charles Shadle; and his siblings, Burton Shadle and Susan Little Shadle.

He is survived by: his children, Leonard John Shadle and Mary Katherine Shadle Clark; and his brothers, Melton Shadle and Ken Shadle. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
