She was predeceased by: her husband Joe A. Chavira; her parents, Silvestre Duran and Maria Cecilia Candelaria; her son Richard Chavira; and her son-in-law Mark Hathorn.
She is survived by: her children, Nestor Chavira (Mary, Joe Chavira, Jr.), Theresa K. Chavira and Maryellen Hathorn. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
