He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Armstrong and Marcella Horton; and his brother Jerry Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Dione; his children, Steven (Katie) of Riverdale, Robert of Sacramento, Lisa of Fresno and Stephanie (Aaron Gassett) of Sanger; his sister Helen (Hector Flores); his grandchildren, Olivia, Grant, Wesley, Vincent, Madison and A. J.; and his nieces and nephews, Joanna, Eric, John, Helen, Noelle and Mitch.
