He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Turner; his sisters, Linda Turner and Julia Turner (Peter Oldham); his niece Lauren Gwin (Clinton Epps); his great-nieces, Lillan Epps and Susannah Epps; his nephew Robert Gwin (Rachel Radcliffe); his stepchildren, Erich Weidtmann and Sarah Rogers; and his stepgrandchildren, David, Jack, Luke Weidtmann, Alistar Rogers and Indigo Rogers.
The family asks that there be no flowers but thanks those who wish to make a donation in his memory to the American Civil Liberties Union or the Surfrider Foundation.
