He is survived by: his spouse Mary Schmidt; his children, Michael Schmidt (Dena), Steven Schmidt (Penny), John Schmidt (Carey), Sherri Cook (Martin), Blain Schmidt (Kristy) and Jannelle Wride (Dwight); and his sibling Barbara Morreale. He is also survived by 33 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren.
