He was predeceased by: his mother Annette Mara (Maccari); his aunt Mary Elizabeth Patrick (Maz); and his godson John Joseph Latoracca. He is survived by: his father Shaun E. Mara; his siblings, Shaun P. Mara (Chantal), Elizabeth Latoracca (Buddy), Maureen Morris (Bill) and Eileen Matheson (Jon); and his nieces and nephews, Tim Morris, Bridget Morris, Stephanie Mara, Ryan Mara, Lindsey Latoracca, Jason Latoracca, Cameron Matheson, Cory Matheson, Jameson and Anderson Noack.
