He was predeceased by: his parents, Huan Nguyen and Diep Nguyen; and his sons, Nguyen-Triem and Huan Nguyen. He is survived by: the mother of his children Phuong Nguyen; and his children, Uyen Nguyen, Tram Nelson (Kevin), Han Nguyen, Suong Wong (Kenny) and Hoan Nguyen. He is also survived by one sister; four nieces; five grandchildren; and many extended family members, in-laws, and life-long friends.
