He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse E. Porter and Lydia Stafford Porter; his son Mark Newman Porter; his brothers, Lindsay Porter and Marlon Porter; and his grandmother Newman.
He is survived by: his children, Nan Taylor (Tom Taylor) of Savannah, GA and Paul Gene Porter (Laurie Porter) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Ryan Bartlett, Jack Porter, Luke Porter, Tyler Porter, Chris Taylor and Taryn Taylor Nunez; his great grandchildren, Tyana Taylor, Alijah Nunez, Madison Bartlett, Maddox Bartlett, Maverick Bartlett and Riley Porter; and his brother Jim Ray Porter (Sally) of Chicago.
