He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lynn Avery and Margaret Maxine (Jones); his wife Betty Avery of North Hollywood; his sister Ann (Andres); and his granddaughter Emily Rose.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Marie Avery of Texas and Laura Lynn Compian (Johnny) of California; his siblings, Lynn Avery (Diane) of Arizona and Nancy Avery of California; and his grandchildren, Michael Compian, Charlie Avery and Saira Canales. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
