He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl E. Vaughn I and Claudia Jarvis Vaughn; his wife Barbara Glasser Vaughn; and his sister Mary Lou Tom. He is survived by: his children, Angela Vaughn Mayberry (Keith) of Wilkesboro, Sharon Shepherd Dawson (Danny) of Long Beach, CA, Ashley Vaughn of Winston-Salem and Randy Shepherd of Anaheim, CA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Mayberry Griffith (Josh), Clark Mayberry (Kandace), Charlie Mayberry, Cameron Shepherd (Gianna) and Cory Shepherd; his great grandchildren, Sophia Brewer, Jackson Trivette, Sadie Griffith, Cam Mayberry, Georgia Mayberry and Cole Shepherd; and his sister Delores Goins (Bernie) of Westfield, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church (4275 Statesville Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (Cherry Grove Church Rd, North Carolina 28654).
