She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Thomas and Willa Thomas; her brother Wayne Thomas; and her husband James Areida. She is survived by: her children, Judy Becker (Dean), Ann Areida-Hintz (Doug), Mike Areida (Maxine) and Paul Areida (Heather); her grandchildren, Adam Dampier (Keiko), Nicole Dampier, Bryan Potter (Kim), Rebecca Areida-Yadav (Sushil), Brad Areida, Rachel Boenisch (Erick), Nicole Edwards (Josh), Brian Eggiman, Erin Becker, Kimberly Schopp (Bob) and Janeen Donnelly; and her pet Mia.

A private funeral service was held with family and donations can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin.
