He was predeceased by: his father Herbert Lee Thomas; and his grandparents, Claude Jennings Bryan, Norma Thomas, Albert and Ethel Bronson.
He is survived by: his mother Judith Carolyn Thomas (Stockton); his children, Justin Lee Thomas (Acampo) and Danielle Liza Thomas (Aaron Martinez); his siblings, Steve Thomas (Lillie Thomas), Liane Dander (Stockton) and Lynette Brigham (Brett Brigham); his girlfriend Kitty O'Niell (Lodi); and his grandson Dexter Gianni Lee Thomas (Stockton). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his name, an organization the family feels strongly about as Doug bravely battled Mesothelioma in his last two years.
