He was predeceased by: his parents, Gust Schmiedt and Dorothy Schmiedt; his grandfather JJ Schmiedt; his brother Ross Schmiedt; and his brother-in-law Mike Hodge.
He is survived by: his wife Danna; his children, Galen (Kimberly) and Sandra Flowers (John); his stepdaughters, Michelle Cline and Renee Fowler (Greg); his grandchildren, Tyler, Lauren Flowers, Trevor, Jenna Schmiedt, Jeremy (Caroline), Hannah, Joy Cline, Stephanie Kelly (John) and Brother Leland (Bernice); and his sister Kathleen Hodge. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and a large extended family.
