James Beck Estes Obituary

James Beck Estes, beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend, passed away on Saturday,
December 9, 2023 after suffering from chronic pain, epilepsy, and other health problems for the past 15
years. Jimmy was born on April 19, 1986 in Walnut Creek, CA. He spent most of his childhood and his adult life in
Livermore. CA. He was born with omphalocele and spent the first month of his life in the hospital
recovering from the repair surgery performed after birth. For the next 22 years of his life, he led a
healthy and happy childhood with normal hopes and dreams like any young man. This easier time came
crashing to an end when Jimmy began suffering from chronic, debilitating, back pain, poorly controlled
epileptic seizures, and other life-threatening illness after his sophomore year of college. Jimmy’s dry
sense of humor will be missed. Friends and family are invited to attend a Rosary service at 7pm on
Friday, January 5, 2024 and a funeral mass at 11am on Saturday, January 6, 2024, both at St. Augustine’s
Church in Pleasanton. A reception in the church hall will follow the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Epilepsy Foundation or your favorite charity would be appreciated.
