He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Chestler of Livermore; his sons, David and Michael; his children-in-law, Beth and Alysa; and his grandchildren, Sawyer and Bronte.
There, he was trained as an electronics technician, which established the foundation for what would become his lifelong career.
