He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, J. Luther Higdon and Lula Ethel Manis; his children, James Alvin Higdon of New York, Dawn Denise Wallage of California, Brittany, Allen and Alexa Harvey; his wife Jan Higdon; his sons-in-law, Rodney and Dr. Gerson Nunes; his grandchildren, Brittany Wallage and Allen Wallage; his adoptive daughter Michele Brecht; his granddaughter Alexa Harvey; his children-in-law, Sarah Carter, Beau and Rob Hoff; his grandchildren, Robert Hoff, Josh Hoff and Elora Carter; his siblings-in-law, Louie Burrow and Julie Burrow; his nieces and nephews, Karen Honor, Eddie Burrow, Evelyn Johnson, Liz Weight and Sonny Anderson; his great-nephew Gregory Anderson; his nieces, Debbie Santaillanes (George Santaillanes), Linda Sue Martin, Brenda Manchebo, Denise Collins, Janie Culbertson, Jamie Anderson, Jessica Looney and Jillian Anderson; and his caregiver Keith.
