He is survived by: his wife Marie Barbagelata; his daughters, Annette Vana (Dave) and Paula Murphy (Joe); his grandchildren, David Vana III, Cristine Vana, Nicole Murphy and Matthew Murphy; and his siblings, Louis Barbagelata (Jeanette) and Louisa Barbagelata. He is also survived by numerous niece and nephews.
