He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonso Rico and Baudelina Maciel; and his siblings, Henry Rico and Yolanda Rico Chinn. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Camila Rico; his children, Angela Rico, Cynthia Rico, Ines Mangual-Cabassa and Alejandro Mangual; his grandchildren, Melinda, Karina, Anita, Amanda, Alexis, Mariah, Sol, Mili, Ceiba and Santos; and his great grandchildren, Avalina Grace, Elijah Manuel and Sophia Ayeli.
