He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Hugges and Shirley Delores Hugges. He is survived by: his wife Edwina; his daughters, Malia Hernandez (Ethan), Dena Busano and Lehua Kramer (Cory); his siblings, Michael Muhammad (Betty) of Phoenix, AZ, Ivy Hugges of Calumet City, IL, Shirley Ann Hugges, Gayle Calimee (Vincent) of Fort Worth, TX and Remell Walker (Leonard Michael) of Bolingbrook, IL; his grandchildren, Malachi Busano (Natalie), Ethan Hernandez, Christian Busano, Dominic Hernandez, Boden Williams, Kalista Williams and Santiago Perez; and his great grandchildren, Malia Busano and Emilio Kai Hernandez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, great nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is requesting donations, instead of flowers, be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Program.
