He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Mitchell. He is survived by: his mother Marlene Rawlings; his children, Joseph Jr. Mitchell (Onchira), Elijah Mitchell, Malachi Mitchell and Hannah Mitchell; and his siblings, Michael Grissom, Solomon Mitchell, Denia McCorkle (Will), Judy Mitchell, Tracy Mitchell, Cochease Mitchell and Theresa White (Warren). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
