He was predeceased by: his sisters, Laurie Martin Gunter, Vernis Martin Hudgins and Marilyn Martin; and his grandson Jelani Alfred Martin-Lewis. He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Martin of Pelham; his children, Evonne Martin of Lancaster and Cheryl Jackson (Al) of Palm Spring; his stepchildren, Evette Stephens and Alonda Simon; his grandchild Lasha Cooper; his brother Jay Perry Martin (Christine) of Dallas; his nieces, Elaine Bonow, Margo Toner, Patricia Williams of Houston, Billy Hudgins of Houston, Jason Martin of Seattle and Jordan Martin of Dallas; and his brother-in-law William King of Los Angeles.
