He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Alvena; his children, Alfredo Banaga, Yvette Wise (David), Byron Banaga (Gloria), Chester Banaga (Ellen), Zina Alonsagay (Henry), Zonia Pascual and Zusette Tan (Jeffery); his grandchildren, Bryan (Cristina), Cheryl Mae, Zhamir, Johnnaidi, Johari, Cherellen, Zara and Zack; and his great grandchild Akeisha Mae. He was also cherished by 12 children.
